Ginny's Toll House Cookies

Ginny's Toll House Cookies - Traditional chewy chocolate chip cookies with oatmeal added to provide a bit of extra body to the cookie.

Ingredients

For 12 medium-sized cookies:

• 1 stick butter, softened
• 1/3 cup sugar
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
• ¼ cup rolled oats (oatmeal)
• ½ cup chocolate chips

Procedure

1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Cream butter and sugars.
3. Add egg and vanilla and mix.
4. Add salt, baking soda, and flour; mix.
5. Add oatmeal; mix.
6. Add chocolate chips; mix.
7. Bake 9 to 11 minutes at 375 degrees F.
