I use Ubuntu 18.04 and my wireless connection doesn't work anymore whereas it worked in the past. I tried with different router but all the same happens. The message "connection failed activation of network connection failed" constantly pops out so it seems to keep trying connecting but fails. It read a lot of relatively same issues but didn't come out with a solution. I disabled the proxy, nothing happens. I don't use a VPN. Terminal outputs I came up with didn't help me to found out what to fix. Here is some outputs that may help you to point out the problem :

We quite clearly see your wireless roaming from among three access points looking for a better connection. This accounts for the annoying drops and reconnects.

I suspect that the first two are the 2.4 GHz segment and the 5 GHz segment of the same router that is set to auto select the frequency and the channel. If this is a router over which you have administrative privileges, I recommend that you rename the segments; something like peehay2.4 and peehay5. Used a fixed channel for each and use WPA2-AES, sometimes called CCMP. I do not recommend any mixed mode and especially not TKIP.

You may also have better luck binding your wireless to the best access point by its MAC address like this: Ubuntu connect drops. Worked for a while then started dropping again
