I'm trying to install cuda toolkit 9.1.

Descending into the dependencies one of them is nvidia-418.

Upon running 

sudo apt-get install nvidia-418

I receive the following error.

Should I uninstall libGLX_indirect?

running sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/dkms_2.3-3ubuntu9.2_all.deb

and 

sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/nvidia-418_418.40.04-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

allowed me to work through this. Might be a packaging bug?
