I have an HP 14 Notebook PC with Intel® Core™ i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz × 4 processor to which I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. Issue I'm having is it suddenly stopped sending audio to an external TV when connecting it via HDMI. I do the usual Settings > Sound > Output Device > HDMI / DisplayPort - Built-in Audio, but when running any audio or even using the Test option, no audio comes out from it.
I have tried solutions proposed on No sound on HDMI Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with no luck.
Running
rm -r ~/.config/pulse/
reboot
OR
killall pulseaudio; rm -rf ~/.config/pulse/* ; rm -rf ~/.pulse*
I have tried several tested HDMI cables, ports on TV tested with a PS3 and they all work fine.
For the PC reinstalling Ubuntu from scratch again, and searching if the BIOS had any HDMI or audio config options, none which has helped me.
