It seems that latest nvidia drivers aren't compatible with xanmod1 kernel, so I tried upgrading from generic kernel but got the same result.

Any way to upgrade or disable this messages when upgrading? My system info:

  • Do you have the output from when you tried with the 'generic kernel'? I would be surprised if you got the same error, if you used the hwe or basic 20.04 kernel. I use those same drivers in 20.04 with the hwe kernel. – Organic Marble Dec 12 '22 at 13:03
  • Reboot to Ubuntu kernel and remove the non Ubuntu one. – nobody Dec 12 '22 at 15:19
  • @OrganicMarble that is the output with the generic kernel as you can see in my system info. – kurokirasama Dec 12 '22 at 18:34
  • @nobody, will I be able to install xanmod1 afterwards? – kurokirasama Dec 12 '22 at 18:34
  • Whatever that xanmod thing is, it is not the kernel that comes with the distro. Or, please explain your statement here "It seems that latest nvidia drivers aren't compatible with xanmod1 kernel, so I tried upgrading from generic kernel but got the same result." – Organic Marble Dec 12 '22 at 18:37
  • @OrganicMarble I first trying upgrading from xanmod kernel. Since it failed, I booted to the generic kernel, which the result I posted. It seem I might have to uninstall the xanmod kernel. – kurokirasama Dec 12 '22 at 18:44
  • The Nvidia module can not be build against this kernel. dkms says it is not supported. – nobody Dec 12 '22 at 19:15
