I just ran sudo apt update, as the first step in upgrading from 20.04 to 22.04. This was part of the response:

OK. So why is the update trying to use https when the path in my Software & Update settings is http://archive.getdeb.net...?

  • Thank you David. I don't know how you narrowed it down, but even the one with an answer has a lot of branches and potential options. In particular, the comment "To summarize, you need to remove the added PPA, and use another one that has packages for your particular release." appears helpful: but I don't know if there is an suitable alternative PPA (or how I would choose it), or whether it would be safe to just deselect the existing one. – John M.
