I should start with the near ubiquitous line "total newb of newbs here", so please be patient, thanks.

So I've been running U22.04 for quite a while now and had no problems at all until I installed the latest VirtualBox and USB extension. I think this is where the problem started, but it's just a guess really.

Everything seemed to go fine. I had WiFi connectivity after the installation with no worries.

I then started to experience a problem with the archive manager hanging, then files. I didn't really understand what was happening so I restarted the machine.

That's when the problem started. Reboot was fine except for the complete absence of WIFI.

I have been trolling through the internet for a solution, but have had no luck yet.

As far as I can tell from what I think I've tested, the adapter is working fine, there's just no drivers for it. I have tried a solution that looked like almost the same problem as I have, but it didn't work.

At this point I am sitting with a fresh reinstall of 22.04.
