All Applications Disappear in the Dash

Question

After installing the latest update, all my applications disappear in the dash?

It always show me : Sorry, there is noting that matches yours search.

Why? How to fix it?

Run
rm ~/.cache/software-center -R and then : open the terminal hit Alt-F2
run the following command unity --reset

Are you sure your applications are still installed ?, try running gedit – Hedwig May 25 '14 at 13:14
