I have tried all the listed drivers + installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-319.76.run that messed up everything then I had to remove it.

last year i bought a alienware with a nvidia . the first time i tried to connect this beauty to a hdmi tv i realize my laptop hdmi version was much newer than the tv's hdmi .

first i recommend you to try your laptop to other tv and see what hapend .

second in the setting panel , find the additional drivers icon and select the opcion : use nvidia binary driver .

if this docent work

try to use your intel hd video card and turn off the nvdia card

hope this help you .

if you have a dual grafic card like the intel hd and the nvidia .

  • Everything works fine with Windows so it's a driver problem, I have tried all the listed options here http://i.imgur.com/gnlxF55.png – Farok Ojil Jan 25 '15 at 10:01
  • why are you using the legacy driver ?? first try to change ir to the first one in your image (binary driver 331.113) that is the one im using . other than that i let you a really good tread abaut nvidia drivers http://askubuntu.com/questions/451221/ubuntu-14-04-install-nvidia-driver – Sarastro Jan 26 '15 at 09:38
