How to find out which USB is which on a BBB

Question

I have a BBB and I want to follow this "example". So I do lsusb and get

How do I find out which one is the "normal" USB and which one is the miniUSB?

I don't want to test it since the miniUSB is my connected to a power station.

What does lsusb --verbose say? You can also attach something to a port, and see what happens in dmesg (or whatever the equivalent is on your BBB OS.) — , Oct 22 '15 at 17:00

I'm sure there are clever ways to devolve this from the output, but often we can just look at what is connected to what port.

For example, it looks like Bus 001 is connected to an FTDI device, which I assume is some sort of USB-to-Serial dongle cable. Which physical port is attached to this cable?
