There is no wireless device available in my network manager. After doing as suggested in another thread regarding this issue, following these steps didn't work

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-wily
wget https://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux-firmware_1.156_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-firmware_1.156_all.deb

This isn't a dupe. The dupe link does not fix the problem I am having. I also looked over here Ubuntu 14.04 Install Firmare released for ath10k_pci and I'm still at square one

  • You didn't boot with the Linux kernel v4.2 backported from Ubuntu Wily (see Linux sunny 3.19.0-32-generic). – David Foerster Mar 11 '16 at 11:43

    It would be beneficial to [edit] your question and add what you've tried already, the output to rfkill list and lspci -v -s 02:00.0 instead of just saying "It's not a dupe". Also have a look here in the mean time. ;-) – Fabby Mar 12 '16 at 02:38
