On my freshly installed Ubuntu 17.04 lock screen appears about 5-10 seconds after I press Win+L or "lock" button in the upper right corner. During these 5-10 seconds nothing is happening. As if I didn't press the button.
How do I reduce this lag? I want it to lock immediately.
"Lock screen after" is set to "screen turns off":

I've pressed "Lock" button at second 20. Screen transitioned into locked mode at second 26. So there was a 6 second lag. At second 40 I've logged back in.
Update 18.05.2017
It happens with two monitors only. It does not happen with one monitor.
dm-tool lock
? Also checkgnome-screensaver-command -a
( or-al
) if these work for you; we can use them to accomplish this task. – Ravexina May 04 '17 at 08:57dm-tool lock
is instant.gnome-screensaver-command -a
is instant too. But the differ in regards to what happens. I mean whether my both monitors first go black or not, or do I get small interval when the login screen is not accessible. dm-tool locks my desktop instantly without black screen, but there is a small interval when password entry box is not accessible. It's fine.gnome-screensaver
turn off my monitors and then gives me my lock screen if I move my mouse. – Marko Kevac May 04 '17 at 12:59
