Ubuntu 12.04 LTS end-of-life was April 28, 2017 -- Upgrade your Precise systems!
$ sudo do-release-upgrade -m server
it wasn't there prior the release-upgrade

lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 17.04
Release: 17.04
Codename: zesty
