Brand-new Universal loadeR from GRUB, is an alternative boot loader forked from GRUB2.

BURG is best known for providing the ability to choose between installed operating systems with theme-able, animated menus. Although more can be installed, currently there are four themes which are distributed with BURG by default:

  • Minimum
  • Proto
  • Ubuntu (pictured below)
  • Writer

More information on how to get and set up BURG can be found at this Ubuntu Documentation page. Note that BURG does not appear to be actively maintained anymore, as the last commit to trunk on Launchpad occurred in October 2010.

Operating System Not found, while booting
