The first explains how to obtain certification and defines what "certified hardware" represents, as well as explaining the key features.

The second is a relatively complete list of compliant hardware with the Ubuntu operating system be it server or PC.

Note: The list of certified hardware isn't to be taken as a list of "The only working pieces of hardware" as not every piece of hardware working with Ubuntu will be certified, especially when the hardware has been tested by individuals and not manufacturers.

Dell has plenty of Ubuntu Certified Hardware, but the XPS that ships with Ubuntu isn't on the list. Why not?

https://certification.ubuntu.com/desktop/models/?release=16.04%20LTS&category=Laptop Why isn't the XPS13 on this list? It ships WITH Ubuntu, why wouldn't it be "Certified".

according to https://certification.ubuntu.com/hardware/201712-26045/ there is an ubuntu 16 that is certified to work with the lenovo x1 carbon gen6. Can I get it? If so where? If not, why not? Thanks
