High DPI (dots per inch) screen resolutions, e.g. 4k/UHD/QHD screens in a relatively small form factor, e.g. laptops/tablets. Use this tag for issues relating to the Ubuntu experience on HDPI screens.

HDPI screens are found in some newer monitors where the size of a pixel is shrunk significantly to give a much clearer display. However this can cause problems for applications that rely on pixels being a certain size for their user interface, e.g. those that specify sizes in screen pixels (as opposed to CSS pixels).

Is there any Ubuntu flavor that handles HiDPI consistently?

Although I know how to tweak here and there.. I wonder if there is any Ubuntu 16.04 (or newer) variant that specializes or works 'out-of-the-box' with HiDPI screens. For that matter, it would be interesting to know any good and recent Linux…

certain applications looks tiny on high def screen

On my Lenovo yoga laptop with Ubuntu 18, I installed notepad++. And it looks really tiny. I'm not sure why it only happens with this app. Is there a way to change settings for a single app only?
