for questions about using or installing Ubuntu on an Ultrabook of any brand
Ultrabooks are a kind of super-thin laptop, defined by Intel. They're manufactured by many different computer companies. Ultrabooks usually have an SSD, but older models may have an SSD/HDD hybrid disk. Ultrabooks are designed to be thin, light, and have a more extended battery life than a normal laptop.
Most Ultrabooks don't come with an optical drive (to save space and reduce thickness) so installing Ubuntu requires a USB stick or an external CD/DVD drive.
Common Ultrabook product families include:
- MacBook Air
- ASUS ZenBook
- Acer Aspire S Series (S 3, S 4 .. S 13, etc.)
- Dell XPS Series
- Samsung Series 5/7/9 Ultrabook
- HP Folio & ENVY
