I have a Master of Science degree in Materials Science in Engineering; Meaning mostly Metallurgy, Semiconductors and Biomaterials - but as you can guess, that is a too broad field for anyone to master... so I am a Master of nothing (In Science).
I am from Suomi (english, danske, norske, svenska Finland), (deutsch Finnland), (francais Finlande), (italiano, espagnol Finlandia), (latin Fennia) (in Scandinavia, Europe) and studied at the same time in same University as founder of Linux Operating System, D.Sc (Honor)) Linus Torvalds (Helsinki University) him studying Computer Sciences and me studying Chemistry and Materials Science.
The picture is made by local artist Ms. Jaana Ulvila representing Joulupukki (suomi-language for Santa Claus, Father Christmas) with three eager children (piggies) waiting for Christmas present: Yoummm...What might that present be?
It's one of Ms. Ulvila's picture series of animal subjects behaving like humans. ...This picture takes me to the Subject of Christmas.
...And The Story Begins....
As all the wise people know...
Joulupukki (finnish), Julgubbe (finland-swedish), Jultomten (swedish), Julemand (danish), Julenissen (norwegian), Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas (english), Sinterklaas (dutch), Weichnachtsmann (german), Samichlaus, Samiklaus (austrian, switcherdeutch), Święty Mikołaj (polish), Père Noël (francais), Papa Noel (espagnol), Pai Natal (portuguese), Papai Noel (brazilian portuguese), Babbo Natale (italiano), Mos Craciun (romanian), Noel Baba (turkish),
Sanctus Nicolaus (latin) or
Ἅγιος Νικόλαος ("Hágios Nikólaos"),
Νικόλαος ὁ Θαυματουργός ("Nikólaos ho Thaumaturgós") (greek)...
...Lives with his reindeer in Korvatunturi mountain in Lappi (Lapland) in Suomi, Finland above the Arctic Circle near town Rovaniemi. If you want to see him personally, that's the place to go. Some people are mistaken to believe that Santa Claus lives in North Pole, but that's not true at all ; Naturally he only spends his summer holidays at The North Pole!
Santa and His Elves (The Little Helpers) and The Reindeer also have a logistical station in Grönland (Greenland) for FEEDING Santa with chocolate and reindeer with lichen; and for supply (Christmas Gifts) reinforcement.
The Old Wise Man has an official post office where you can contact Him (not for naughty children!!!). So if you have been kind enough this year, you can write to Joulupukki and maybe send your Christmas gift wish list to following address (Please remember also to inform your parents, because Joulupukki, Santa Claus uses your parents as consults about your kindness):
Santa Claus
96930 Arctic Circle
FINLAND
P.S. Joulupukki, Sanctus Nicolaus, Ἅγιος Νικόλαος or Santa Claus is old fashioned, but his Little Helpers are living the modern age, so you can contact them through:
