Hi. I'm 57, semi-retired programmer with 25plus years experience working on real-time in-motion rail weighing weigh bridges. I have a fair knowledge of A/D cards, most forms of serial communications and writing code in archaic languages.
I moved onto the Linux platform in 1014 and it was the best decision I ever made. I learn everything from experimentation and with a wonderful tool Clonezilla, I am able to backup my ROOT, HOME partitions to a backup partition, so if I totally mess up, I just restore to the previous operational point. This has saved me countless hours of reloading from scratch. This way I can be more adventurous knowing there will always be a safety net.
