I've been creating web apps since 1996. Along the way I've used .cgi scripts (Perl & Python), .idc/.htx, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion, C#.NET, and (for the last several years) Ruby on Rails. Mostly I deal with secure web apps and data transport issues.

I run a MicroISV. Scarecrow, my current product, does website availability/content monitoring, plus "in the cloud" backups/restores to & from Amazon S3. The app uses RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Rails, back-end Ruby processes, and Linux virtual machines in various locations around the U.S.

I also do freelance work on occasion--usually for people I've worked with before, but if you need some help, give me a shout. I may have time, or I may be able to find someone else to help you. I have a special interest in startups (I've worked for several in addition to my own Cabin Fever Software, and have twice worked for companies that told me they were spinning off a product).
