Just checking out the StackOverflow site after years of using it to find solutions.

I've been using computers and programming in a variety of languages since the 1970's, both as a hobby and professionally.

I'm not impressed so far - I've already had an unfounded criticism of my first question from a 'high reputation' member who clearly had not bothered to read the question properly. Is that the sort of unintelligent response to be expected from this site? Is there any way to give someone a 'malicious nobody having an ego-wank' badge?
