I'm an IT technician since 2004, and today i am responsible for some Windows Domains and over 2000 Windows Clients. We also maintain Linux-based web/proxy/firewall appliances.

At home i'm using Linux at my primary desktop since Ubuntu 7. Before that, i was playing around with many other distros. SuSE 5.3 was the first one, that i seriously spent some time on.

I like shell scripting and compiling software, and also have some HTML, JS, PHP and SQL knowledge.

On the other hand, i'm an 'old-school hardware guru' which means that i had built computers since the Intel i386 machines. Nowadays i'm using silent PCs for work and entertainment, as well as those little singleboard-computers like the Pi for evaluating thincomputing and MediaCenter projects.

The primary cause why i'm here at askubuntu is to help people to solve their problems. And as a side-effect, i'm learning new things everyday, which i like :-)
