Retired teacher for physics and mathematic. Worked with Dos in the 80ties, stopped because i had to do what the machine wants and not the reverse as it should be!. Tried several times suse, but stopped because printer and scanner didn´t work and also no online-banking-program. Now at ubuntu + kubuntu again because of principle reasons against win-software. Ubuntu works fine, but the launcher can´t be changed to my wishes, also grub2 is boring and the terminal work is for freaks and their feeling to be a master (like DOS). Kubuntu shows in the menu not all programs and if you forget the name it is boring too. Also confusion between gnome and kde. I´m concerned the focus of the community is more on ubuntu. But the hardware changes fast and with software are enough complications, so a concentration would be better for the user and more powerful. I use internet, office, printer, scanner, mail, fotos and online-banking. This is all basic, but still the machine does not all "humanable".
