Long-time IT professional (~27 years), with experience in databases and systems of the Unix type. Tools, systems, and technologies I've worked with include: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux (Slackware, RedHat, Ubuntu), MS-DOS (1.0-now), MS-Windows, OS/2, Intel-based PCs, MacIntosh (limited), Informix, Oracle, dBase/Paradox, C, I-4GL, COBOL, shells and scripting, Perl, Java, and the various desktop tools.

In the past 10 years, however, my programming skills have had to a take a back seat to management skills and the use of Project Management tools. But in that timeframe, I've always had some kind of Linux machine of some flavor running at home. I now have two stand-alone Ubuntu servers (running 12.02 and 14.04), as well as a couple of Raspberry PIs running Ubuntu. Despite all this, I consider myself somewhat of a novice in the Systems Administration arena and hope to improve my skills here in this forum.
