I am currently the Digital/Electronic Services Librarian and Assistant Professor for Morningside College. I handle all the technological responsibilities for the HJF Library which includes: web pages, web guides, integrated library systems, content management systems, databases, social networking and more.

I am an avid technology user and have really come to realization in the past few years that open source is the only option for me. I believe that the concept of open source, open access, and these kinds of community sharing philosophies need to be applied to more aspects of our society and lives.

Ubuntu Experience: I am a recent convert to the Ubuntu platform and am still in a highly experimental phase. I would consider myself slightly above a newbbie on this but have had some significant experience with downloading and installing the following software on an Ubuntu laptop running 11.10. You will find at this time the software is directed towards libraries, archives and higher education.
