Niwica [niˈvit͡sa] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Trzebiel, within Żary County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland, close to the German border.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south of Trzebiel, 21 km (13 mi) west of Żary, and 61 km (38 mi) south-west of Zielona Góra.
In the past it was also known in Polish as Cybela.[2]
German scientist Walther Nernst died in the village in 1941.
