Latin II/In the city Lesson 3
Salvēte omnēs! Welcome back to Latin for Wikiversity. After learning about public buildings and shops, today we'll learn how to describe neighborhoods and give directions in a Roman city.
New Grammar
To give directions in Latin, we use several prepositions with different cases:
- inter + accusative = between
- trāns + accusative = across
- circum + accusative = around
- prope + accusative = near
We also use the commands:
- ī/īte = go! (singular/plural)
- verte/vertite = turn! (singular/plural)
